Comments heard from some young spectators at the Luminara Festival:

One little girl shouts out during a bubble chase, "You make it fun for everyone". Another child yells in the midst of a performance: "This is a great party!".

Children in Kinsmen Gorge Park try to shake hands with Giovanni, a puppet character in a skit called Clown of God. It’s based on a traditional French folk tale.

A painted fan enjoys Jugglin’ Jay while waiting for his mom to finish the race.

Beacon Hill Park will look a little different after Luminara casts a spell of lighting magic during it’s annual Luminara festival. It’s quickly becoming a very popular family outing. At dusk the entertainment is geared for all ages in a carnival atmosphere. Clowns, crafts, music and artistic creations are part of the day’s fun.

Fun with fire
The University of Victoria marked it's 40th birthday as well as the 100th anniversary of the founding of the university’s predecessor, known as Victoria College, with a celebration on the weekend.
